Rachel and Rory were married in the small mining town of Grass Valley Ca. The wedding ceremony was held at the historic state park of Empire Mine. When you think of a mining area you probably have images of lots of dirt and old rusty mining equipment laying around. But Empire Mine is one of the most beautiful state parks in California to have your wedding at. Rachel and Rory opted to see each other before the ceremony, so they could get all of the photos they wanted with out being rushed after the ceremony. The ceremony took place near one of the water fountains in front of the Bourn Cottage, which looks more like a huge house than a cottage. Following the ceremony we made our way over to their reception, which was held at a friends house in Grass Valley. Rachel and Rory created and set up the whole reception site themselves with the help of family and friends. I would have to say that it was one of the most amazing reception sites I’ve photographed in a long time. It was a wonderful wedding and I had a super fun time photographing it along side Wendy, who helped me out.
